Headteacher Update

An update from Mr Seviour.

We are now at the end of our third week already - where has the time gone? Our new reception cohort have settled well into the school, and have joined in with more and more school life, including our whole-school singing assemblies. Teachers have shared their learning overviews with parents - these can be found on the curriculum page of this website. A few updates to share with you below, please do have a read. Have a lovely weekend!

New Playground Equipment

The Friends of Blackbrook School have kindly donated money, which we have spent on new playground equipment for the children. It was wonderful to see children across the school, from Reception to Year 6, engaging in play with the new resources. Take a look at some pictures here. Thank you for your ongoing support of our school charity. Please do speak with me or Claire Anderson if you are interested in joining the Friends - we need your support to continue to run fundraising opportunities to enrich the children's school experiences.

Taunton Together

Find about more about the event on Saturday 27th September here.

Mr Crawley Update

Mr Crawley, teaching assistant, left us at the end of the summer term as he moved away to start a family. I am pleased to announce that he is now a proud father to Archie, who was born on the 17th September weighing 6lb and 15oz. We are thrilled for him.

School Photographs

A reminder that the school photographer will be here on Monday to take individual photos of all of the children. Please ensure your child comes to school in their uniform. If it is their PE day, they should bring their kit to change into. Parents may wish to have sibling photos taken. If this is the case, please come to the school office on Monday morning from 08:30 so these photos can be taken before the school day begins.

Parent Consultations

The children have settled very quickly into the new academic year. Parent consultations will take place on Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd October. A letter will be sent home soon explaining how you can book an appointment, via the Arbor app, to meet with your child's class teacher to discuss their start to term. Please do speak to their teacher before then if you have any pressing concerns.

Clubs

We are pleased to offer a range of six different clubs this half-term from football to knitting! We will continue to publish our clubs offer at the beginning of each half-term. Clubs will be open to Reception later in the year.

Nursery Consultation

We are considering opening a nursery at Blackbrook School. From today, we are consulting parents in the local area to see if this is desirable. For more information, and to access the survey, please click here. Please do pass the link on to any friends and family with young children in the local area.

Friends of Blackbrook School
