Every time I walk home from school, I see an extreme amount of litter in my street. After a while it began to get worse and worse. So me and my friend Evan decided to do a litter pick around are close and down the lane.

The reason we did a litter pick was because our street was full of litter of all kinds like plastic bottles, yoghurt pots and even a full bottle of Coca Cola! We started near a big bush were there lay five plastic bags all in the one area. Evan has proper litter pickers so we thought they would be good for reaching in tough places. We then moved toward my house where we found three apple cores. I have a compost bin outside my house, so we put them in there.

Afterwards, I felt mixed feelings. I felt happy because we had made our area more delightful and clean. But I felt sad because we had collected three whole bags just in one street. Our street looked much much cleaner than it was before.

From dirty to clean our street looks much better. Try and do more litter picks around your area and see how much cleaner it looks. Every last Saturday of the month, my school does a litter pick so feel free to come.
